This website was created by Neil Woods to showcase enhancement parts Neil and his Dad have designed and manufactured for his 1:84 Scale HMS Victory. 

Neil started designing more highly detailed parts because he wasn't satisfied with many of the parts that came as standard with the kit. When you invest many months in a kit, hoping one day it will be a centre piece in your model collection, you may want it to be as accurate as possible.

​We do lots of research so we can make all parts as accurate as possible.

ENHANCEMENT PARTS FOR:

HMS VICTORY |  Scale Model

In 2018 while part way through building my model of Lord Nelsons Victory, I visited the actual ship at the Historic Dockyard in portsmouth. I was taken aback by the craftsmanship of many of Victory's decorations and many elements of the ship. I took many measurements and took many photos of her.

So when I compared my research to my kit, I realised there where many incorrections and areas for improvement. However this was a challenging feat, even for the manufacturers of the kit. Based on the level of detail of the real ship and the building materials and manufacturing processes available, it would be impossible for the manufacturers to replicate this. 

However technology advancements has made huge leaps in the previous decade. We are now able to take advantage of modern 3D printing technology to create parts in amazing high levels of detail and accuracy.

ENHANCEMENT PARTS FOR:
TRUMPETER RMS TITANIC | 1:200

Anyone building the Trumpeter 1:200 Titanic model kit will be aware of many aftermarket enhancement kits now available. One of the things that frustrated me was you can only buy full kits. Meaning you end up doubling on parts you don't need. Thus wasting money. I decided to help modellers who just want to purchase the actual parts they need.

I also realise that there are details missing from the Trumpeter kit and other aftermarket kits that I wanted to create. So that with the help of my kits and others, modellers can make their Titanic model as close to a museum quality piece as possible.

Our solutions

Using modern designing tools and the latest advancements in 3D printing, we can now produce mini add-on models to a super high level of crisp detail. 3D Resin printers use liquid resin which cures using UV light. With these printers the layer lines are almost impossible to see.

I came across Johns model building videos when researching for ideas for my own models. I find his approach to this hobby very relaxing and easy to watch. He dares to tweak and improve his own kits and dares to think outside the box. We have collaborated on our Victory kits and shared ideas with each other.
